The 2010 Sea Picnic will be TWICE THE EVENT of previous years – and MORE THAN DOUBLE THE FUN!!
It will take place on Saturday 19th June, from noon until 4.00pm, at a superb location on the outskirts of Torquay overlooking Lyme Bay:
- Run in partnership with Armed Forces Day and Babbacombe Festival.
It will include all the elements that made previous Sea Picnics such enjoyable and successful occasions, but will feature two spectacular new events.
Sea Spectacular. New-age ‘pirates’ attack vessels moored directly offshore. They are then assaulted from the sea by Special Forces in RIB inflatables. On trying to escape they are bombed by helicopter. Simulated gunfire, explosions and pyrotechnics.
Air Spectacular. Superb aerobatics display at close range, over the sea. Fly-past by vintage aircraft including, a Spitfire, Hurricane, Sea Fury and Mustang. Paramotor team.
All this in addition to:
Welcome, with a Pusser’s Rum punch or fruit juice cocktail.
Delicious seafood lunch (with alternatives) served by Sea Cadets.
Music by the High Society traditional jazz band
Entertainment from The Shanty Men
Auction by Sotheby’s with exciting opportunities, plus paintings and prints
Grand prize raffle
Bar
Sausage stall, provided by Westaway’s
Visits, by those who wish, by tender to the Trinity Sailing Trust’s sailing trawlers .
